1. Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) Program

An internationally-recognized Korean government scholarship program aimed to boost global cooperation and exchange and to strengthen international competitiveness.

● Korean Government Scholarship Program

Encourage international educational exchanges and strengthen friendship between countries by providinginternational students the opportunity to study in Korea(500 undergraduate/Master/Ph. D students per year).

● Foreign Exchange Students Support Program

Invite and select outstanding international students recommended by the universities and give support for accommodation, transportation, medical insurance, etc.

● Self-financed Students Support Program

Provide scholarships for self-financed international students in Korea to ensure smoother acclimatization, foster a positive view of Korea and motivate potential international students to study in Korea.

 

● Short-term Training for International Students

Introduce Korean culture and the Korean university experience through international student exchange with higher education institutions located in major countries in Asia, Africa, Central America and South America

2. English Program in Korea[EPIK]

EPIK,TaLK Brochure

EPIK is a full-time teaching position available in metropolitan and provincial locations, from primary through secondary schools nationwide. Established in 1995 as part of the Ministry of Education’s initiative to enhance the national English education curriculum, EPIK is a rewarding experience for those pursuing a future in teaching English as a foreign language.

   Eligibility

  Native English speaker and citizen of one of the designated countries*

   Work Description

  Teach the national English language curriculum

  Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day (22 instructional hrs/자)

   Tem of Work

  1 year, full-time position

   Placement Location

  15 metropolitan and provincial locations

3. Teach and Learn in Korea

TaLK is a service-learning scholarship program for undergraduates seeking to learn about Korea and gain experience abroad. There is ample time to explore personal interests and more opportunities to travel around Korea through TaLK!

  Eligibility

  Native English speaker and citizen of one of the designated countries*

  Associate’s degree or enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (3rd year of higher)

  Work Description

  Teach conversational English in after-school classes

  Monday-Friday (15 instructional hrs/wk)

  Term Duration

  1 year (6 months for exceptional cases)

  Placement

  11 metropolitan and provincial areas, mostly rural locations

Measure and evaluate language fluency and academic achievement of overseas Koreans and non-native speakers of Korean, and to provide a standardized framework with which to study the Korean language

Reinforce learning of the Korean language through the Internet with a special emphasis on preparing individuals forthe Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).

● ‘Study in Korea’ Exhibition

Host study abroad fairs in various countries to meet the objective and goals of the 「Study in Korea」 project by systematically and strategically inviting 200,000 international students to study in Korean universities by 2020.

Manage the online one-stop administrative service that not only provides overseas study information, but also processes admission and visa applications through an interface with the Ministry of Justice and the various participating universities.

● International Student Service Center www.studyinkorea.go.kr

The International Student Service Center provides services with Korean, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Russian and Mongolian to help international students have better communication when they want to consult with their problems.
