FELLOWSHIPS AND GRANT PROGRAMS
FELLOWSHIP FOR FIELD RESEARCH
The KF Field Research program is designed to support doctorate-level students and prominent scholars in Korean Studies for their field research in Korea.
Eligibility: Doctoral candidate, professors and researchers conducting research on Korea
in the field of humanities or social sciences
Number of Awardees: Around 30 per year
Fellowship Period: 1 – 6 months
Program Support: monthly stipend(2 – 5 million KRW), round-trip airfare, traveler’s insurance
FELLOWSHIP FOR KOREAN LANGUAGE TRAINING
This fellowship provides professors, graduate students and Korea-related professionals with an opportunity to take an intensive Korean language course up to one year at a university-affiliated language institute in Korea.
Eligibility: M.A./Ph.D. students and faculty members in the field of Korean Studies,
professionals involved in Korea-related activities
Number of Awardees: Up to 40 per year
Fellowship Period: 6 – 12 months
Program Support: tuition fees, monthly stipend(1 – 1.2 million KRW), travelers’ insurance
FELLOWSHIP FOR GRADUATE STUDIES
This fellowship program is designed to foster new generations of scholars who are currently enrolled in an MA or PhD program in Korean Studies.
Eligibility: M.A./Ph.D. students who currently enrolled on a graduate program for conducting
research on topics related to Korea within the fields of humanities, social science
studies or arts and culture studies
Number of Awardees: Around 150 per year
Fellowship Period & Program Support: Basis of regional group or country
